View500 Deployment Examples

XML Document and Information Store

View500 provides support for XED, allowing it to offer a variety of XML services that other LDAP Directory’s cannot provide. With View500, you have the ability to store, query and retrieve XML documents using standard LDAP operations. Since the XML content is intelligently understood, advanced searching capabilities are supported by View500.

The example below indicates how View500 can be used in conjunction with the third party technologies, BMC Identity Management Suite and the IBM PureEdge XDFL Forms. In this case the BMC Identity Management suite is providing a web interface into the View500 directory. IBM PureEdge forms are being stored within the directory in their native XDFL format. View500 is being used to intelligently process the data within the IBM form to respond to search operations.

Searches based on text fields within XML documents can be completed via a web interface. The web interface (BMC) will simply send View500 an LDAP search operation. View500 will target the appropriate section of the IBM form and apply search there.

Search operations are not only limited to text fields. In this example, the web interface is asking if a specific ‘checkbox’ within the form has been ticked. Using normal LDAP operations, View500 is able to identify the checkbox in question and respond authoritatively.
